Deputy Chairman of State Russian Duma Aleksandr Zhukov announced here on Monday that the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is scheduled to speak at the Duma on his upcoming visit to Moscow Thursday.

Zhukov made the comment in a press conference, adding that the two countries’ presidents will meet this week in Moscow.

The Russian state TV and some other Russian media, too, will broadcast the event. The Russian state daily "Gazettee" announced that the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran will arrive in Moscow on Wednesday, January 19.

The Spokesman of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Bahadori Jahromi, too, had a while ago announced the president’s visit of Russia, saying that in that visit issues of bilateral interest and cooperation, as well as Tehran-Moscow business and trade will be discussed.

Russian President Spokesman Dimity Pescov, too, announced during the recent days that the preparations for President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit are being made in Moscow.

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had earlier said that the visit of the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran of Moscow is of great importance. Diplomatic talks between Tehran and Moscow need to be resumed.

Announcing that the Covid-19 pandemic had delayed the schedule for the two countries’ delegations visits, he added: President Vladimir Putin and President Ebrahim Raisi have had several phone talks so far.

“In the two countries’ presidents’ talks the entire issues in the agenda of bilateral ties will be addressed and surveyed,” said the Russian foreign minister.
