Amirabdollahian: Iran favors stability in Iraq
Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said here on Tuesday in a meeting with former Iraqi prime minister Adel Abdul Mahdi that Iran always favors peace and stability in Iraq.
Amirabdolahian said that the two countries are sustainable friends and brothers.
He added that the two countries’ political, economic and cultural relations must expand more than ever before.
He praised the moves made during Al-Mahdi’s government aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties, ensuring him that Iran is determined to further fortify is relations with Iraq.
Iran always favors peace and stability in Iraq, and its constructive role in regional interactions, respecting the Iraqi people’s political decisions, added the Iranian top diplomat.
Abdul Mahdi, too, referred to the countless commonalities of Iran and Iraqi in the meeting, considering them as a great capital at the service of evermore proximity between the two nations and governments.
The two sides were also agreed on the need for continuous negotiations aimed at resolving the Syrian crisis.
