Iran is closely monitoring the suspicious behaviors that the United States, Britain, and the Zionist regime have recently started in the region, the secretary of SNSC said.

Rear Admiral Shamkhani, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), and the representative of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the council received Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein here on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Shamkhani pointed out the continued presence of US troops and their interference in the internal affairs of countries in the region, adding continuation of these conditions will increase tensions in the region even more.

He further stated that the countries of the region were able to ensure their security without any foreign interference. "The suspicious behaviors that the United States, Britain, and the Zionist regime have recently started in the region are creating insecurity and misunderstanding between the countries of the Persian Gulf," he said.

Shamkhani went on to say, "With full knowledge of the goals and behind the scenes of these measures, we are fully prepared to neutralize the destabilizing factors and plans in the region."

He referred to the sanction of resistance elements in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon and the green light to terrorist groups, saying, "Nations' hatred of the United States and its allies is due to the double-standard policy and mischievous behavior."

Shamkhani also stressed the need for full and speedy implementation of the Tehran-Baghdad agreements, which could be a big step in increasing the level of comprehensive cooperation and the welfare of the people of the two countries.

Elsewhere in the meeting, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council referred to some anti- Iran armed terrorist groups in the Kurdistan Region and said: "We call on the Iraqi government to be more serious about expelling these groups from Iraqi Kurdistan."

For his part, Fuad Hussein said: "Political and social stability in Iran makes the Iraqi government and people happy."

He considered any action against Iran from the Iraqi territory contrary to the policy of the Iraqi government and said: "We will fight strongly with any group and current that wants to threaten Iran from Iraqi territory in any way."

Expressing satisfaction with the gradual resolution of Iraq's debt to Iran, Fouad Hussein added: "Although economic and trade relations between Tehran and Baghdad are at a good level, considering the great potential for cooperation between the two countries, Baghdad is ready to improve comprehensive relations with Iran's new administration."
