Iran discusses frozen fund with S. Korean official

Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araghchi and South Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Choi Jong-Kun in a telephone call late on Tuesday discussed the issue of releasing of Iran’s frozen fund in South Korea.
During the phone talk, the issue of releasing Iran's frozen funds in South Korea was discussed, and the two sides talked about effective mechanisms for the use of these resources.
Stressing South Korea's will to solve the problem, Jong-Kun noted that Seoul will use all its power to provide access to these resources.
According to South Korean banks, about 10 trillion won ($ 9.2 billion) of Iranian monetary assets has been frozen in South Korean banks due to US sanctions.
