“Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) does not cooperate with us to use Iran resources in Iraq to buy basic commodities,” a spokesman of the Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters' Union told.

Speaking to ILNA news agency correspondent Seyyed Hamid Hosseini pointed to the recent agreement between Iran and Iraq and said “Iran was supposed to use its resources in Iraq to buy non-sanctioned and basic commodities but despite this agreement, Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) is not cooperating and no money has been released.”

Referring to the Iraqi Prime Minister's visit to Tehran, he added “We hope that this issue will be resolved during Mustafa Al-Kadhimi's visit.”

Asked about the outcome of the Iranian foreign minister's recent visit to Iraq, Hamid Hosseini confirmed that the details of Zarif's talks with the Iraqi prime minister have not yet been released, but the trip has been more diplomatic.

“We must be able to encourage Baghdad to increase the level of cooperation and demand the implementation of previous agreements, he added.

Iran's Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi wrote in a tweet late on Monday that Tehran is ready to welcome Iraqi premier and the accompanying delegation.

The relations between the two countries are expanding in all fields, and the borders of the two countries are the borders of friendship and mutual cooperation, he said.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi is scheduled to arrive in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking politico-economic delegation today for talks with the Iranian officials.

Immediately after the official welcoming ceremony for the Iraqi prime minister, the official delegations of the two countries will begin bilateral talks. The Iraqi prime minister will also have a private meeting with the Iranian president.

After the private meeting of the Iraqi Prime Minister with President Hassan Rouhani, the joint talks of the high-level delegations of the two countries will be held in the presence of First Vice President Es'haq Jahangiri and Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

Al-Kadhimi will meet Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf during his two-day stay in Tehran.

Iraqi foreign, oil, energy, finance, defense and health ministers are accompanying Al-Kazemi during his Tehran visit.
