Iran, Turkey and Afghanistan to launch international corridor
Iranian Deputy Minister and Chairman of Roads Maintenance and Transport Organization Shahram Adamnejad announced the establishment of the Turkey-Iran-Afghanistan transit route.
Speaking to ILNA news agency, he said “Tehran and Ankara have reached major agreements on road and railroad transport.”
“It was also agreed that the minutes of the establishment of this corridor will be sent to Turkey and Afghanistan in the near future and then finalized in a trilateral meeting”, he added.
Adamnejad also added Iran and Turkey have agreed to launch direct train services between Tehran and Ankara.
Turkey is one of Iran’s major trading partners in the region which has come under pressure from Washington to stop working with Tehran under a fresh wave of US anti-Iran sanctions.
