Iran to launch shipping line from Hormozgan to Omani ports; Iran official told ILNA
Iran's Commercial Attaché to Oman Abbas Abdolkhani announced that for the first time, a reefer ship will be launched between Iran and Oman.
Speaking to ILNA news agency, he added that reefer ship will carry perishable commodities such as fruits from Iran’s Jask Port in Hormozgan Province to Omani ports for the first time
“The new transportation a route has been created by Iranian private-run companies but in the past Iranian fruits was exported to Oman via Sharjah in the UAE.”
He added “the opening of a direct transport route to Oman will help increase Iran’s exports to the neighboring country.”
President of Iran-Oman Chamber of Commerce Mohsen Zarrabi said in October that trade between the two countries is expected to reach $1 billion by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2019).
