Building two 1000 MW nuclear power plants with Russia; Chitchian tells ILNA
Iranian Energy Minister says, the country is going to build two nuclear power plants with the help of Russia
"Hamid Chitchian", Iran’s Energy Minister, in his interview with ILNA, answering questions regarding President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Moscow and discussions on nuclear power plant development, said: "Considering Russia, we have two active projects; one is the project that Atomic Energy Organization of Iran is having with the Russian country and according to the contract, Russians should build two 1000 MW Nuclear Power Plants. There’s also another active project between Moscow and the Energy Ministry on building 1400 MW Power Plant in Hormozgan and near Persian Gulf."
According to top energy official, executive work of the plant would start before 11th cabinet ends its first term. "But the project is going to end in 12th cabinet" he underlined.
In response to a question regarding the minister’s plans in raising water and electricity prices in the year ahead, he told: "according to the Parliament’s resolution the prices won’t change in year 1396."
Chitchian also added: "Because of recent moderately good rain, we can say that we’re above the normal and hope that the trends would keep going up until the end of the year or even into the next years."
