Iran, Thailand agree to increase direct flights
Iranian Civil Aviation Organization official and Thailand envoy to Iran in a meeting agreed to increase direct flights between Tehran and Bangkok to 13 times per week from the current nine.
Civil Aviation Organization Director General for Airports, Airlines and Aeronautical Institutions Supervision Morteza Dehqan and Ambassador of Thailand to Iran Rasmee Chittham, in a meeting on Sunday, agreed on restart of Thai Air flights from Bangkok to Tehran and increase of direct flights between the two countries to 13 times per week from the current nine starting October 1, 2016.
The two officials have also agreed to promote level of cooperation in the field of air transportation.
Currently, there are nine direct flights between Iran and Thailand six of which are done by Iranian private company Mahan Air while Thai airlines are doing the rest.
