Foreign banks issued over 5,800 LCs for Iran after JCPOA

Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif said on Monday that after implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) over 5,800 Letters of Credit (LCs) have been opened up by foreign banks for Iranian businessmen.
During the period, some 472 corresponding banks operated between Iran and other countries were registered, he said.
Big European banks are now working with Iran, he said adding that the statistics indicate that grounds for economic development mainly after JCPOA era is well- prepared, he said.
He said that implementation of the JCPOA is regarded as among the biggest achievements of the Iranian government.
