Fire at Iran petrochemical site is not sabotage
Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said on Friday that fire in Bu Ali Sina Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr for sure is not sabotage, but it has technical reasons.
He told reporters in Mahshahr that one of reason for the fire broken out in Bu Ali Sina Petrochemical Company has been a leak in one of its towers.
Zangeneh said it is necessary to explain some points in this concern; first of all as some claims that it was sabotage, for sure it is not, but it had technical reasons, which will be investigated.
Rumors concerning evacuation of Mahshahr city are not correct as well, he added.
The minister said that some neighboring states had inappropriate reaction to the blaze, which is not good for a Muslim country.
He stressed that a professional team is commanding the operation to extinguish the fire and hopefully operation to extinguish the blaze will be carried in several hours.
Fortunately, the incident has no loss of life and even injury and efforts to put out the fire have been so coordinated.
Fire broke out in Bu Ali Sina Petrochemical Company on July 6 and it was controlled until Thursday morning, it re-started again on Thursday but under control of the forces in the scene.
Zangeneh is on a visit to Mahshahr to oversee the firefighting operation at the scene.
