An economic expert has said that Iran’s regional rivals are taking measures and operations to prevent the JCPOA from being revived because the interests of these countries are in contradiction with those of Iran.

certainly, the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will have a positive effect on the political and economic stability of our country, Ali Ghanbari said in an exclusive interview with ILNA.

Underlining that the revival of the JCPOA is in favor of Iran’s interests, he said that for some of Iran’s rivals in the region like Russia, the revival of the deal isn’t pleasant because as a result of accepting the JCPOA, Iran’s political and economic situation will be stable and it will lead to the observation of the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“For this reason, the regional rivals are taking measures and operations to prevent the agreement from being concluded, because these countries’ interests are in disagreement with those of Iran,” he added.

We should note that Russia hasn’t been on the same page with Iran since long ago and has never taken into account Iran's interests and always sought its national interests, he said, adding that if we want to be an independent country, we should accept the JCPOA.
