Former minister appointed head of Plan & Budget Org of Iran
President Ebrahim Raisi appointed former Commerce Minister Masoud Mirkazemi as the Head of Iran’s Plan and Budget Organization (PBO).
Mirzkazemi who has previously served as Oil Minister and Commerce Minister in the administration of former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will now serve at the capacity of Vice President and Head of the PBO.
Born in 1960, Mirkazemi has a PhD in Industrial engineering and has also been at high official posts as the Head of APEC (2011), representative of Tehran in Parliament and several other positions.
The PBO has a variety of goals and duties, including the evaluation of the country's resources, the preparation of its medium and long term development plans and policies, the preparation of annual budgets, and the monitoring and evaluation of work done under the implemented plans.
