The latest status of the development of Chabahar port was reviewed in the presence of ambassadors, foreign representatives, government officials, and the ambassador of India in Tehran Gaddam Dharmendra at the meeting of the Chamber of Commerce.

The meeting was attended by ambassadors of India and ambassadors and representatives of over 20 countries in Tehran, including France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, Finland, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Oman, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Sri Lanka.

The Indian ambassador called the port of Chabahar as the center of commercial transportation in the region and said: "In recent years, all kinds of humanitarian aid from India to Afghanistan and Iran has been provided through the port of Chabahar."

Referring to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Iran in 2016 and the signing of a cooperation agreement between Iran, India, and Afghanistan for the development of Chabahar port, Dharmendra said: "Establishing a secure trade route and free access by the landlocked countries of the region to the countries of Central Asia and Western Europe is one of the aims of the agreement."

For his part, the Secretary-General of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Bahman Eshqi, added: "Chabahar has the capacity to be a connection point for key countries in the region and with the participation and win-win cooperation of the countries in the region, a safe and secure highway will also bring wealth and capital for those in charge."

At the meeting, the Indian Embassy presented a report on the process of starting the tripartite agreement between Iran, India, and Afghanistan and the progress of equipping and developing infrastructure in the port of Chabahar.
