Law Enforcement Forces are not meddling in canceling concerts any more; Talebi tells ILNA
Top Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry says, Law Enforcement Forces are not meddling in holding musical events anymore.
Regarding the issue of law enforcement forces, directly canceling concerts, "Farzad Talebi", Director of music office in Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, referring to 20th clause of public places executive regulations told that law enforcement forces were allowed to cancel concerts according to those regulations.
"We tried to amend the clause. According to the reform bill that was passed in the cabinet, law enforcement forces cannot directly prevent concerts from taking place" he added.
Music office director also said: "According to the new regulations, law enforcement forces are only responsible to our request. In other words, law enforcement forces have a week to respond to Culture Ministry’s request in holding concerts. Their reasons on canceling an event can only be related to traffic or law enforcement matters."
"Reforming of the regulations, happened around six-month ago. From then, we haven’t witnessed any case of canceling or preventing musical events" Talebi emphasized.
According to him, any certification for concerts or musical events from the ministry is already confirmed by law enforcement forces.
