US waiting for Iran ''formal response'', Kelly
ILNA: The United States said that it is still waiting for Iran's "formal response" to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)'s proposal to ship enriched uranium abroad for further processing.
Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters at the daily press briefing "We are in very close consultation with him(IAEA chief), that we need further clarification. And I think it's also fair to say that we need to have a formal response from Iran,"
Describing ElBaradei's proposal as "a good proposal," Kelly claimed that "There is complete unity among the four parties: the U.S., France, Russia, and the IAEA" on Iran's nuclear program.
"We don't dispute the right of Iran to a peaceful nuclear energy program and we need to have more transparency and Iran needs to raise the level of confidence among the international community," the spokesman added.
The UN nuclear agency said in a statement that it received an initial response from the Iran over nuclear deal.
Meanwhile Iran envoy Ali Asghar Soltanieh had said earlier that the "Economic and technical concerns regarding the supply of fuel for the research reactor in Tehran
should be discussed.
Tehran Research Reactor need 20 percent enriched uranium for the purpose of producing radioisotopes used in cancer treatment by over 200 hospitals in Iran.
